If symptoms of a stroke occur, call 911 immediately. The faster treatment is received, the better for limitation of damage and quicker recovery.

Symptoms of TIAs are similar to that of a stroke, but resolve after a short time; this is due to the blood flow being restored therefore causing the symptoms to resolve. With a stroke, the blood flow stays blocked resulting in permanent damage.
