Parkinson’s Disease is a progressive condition of the nervous system. The most common symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease are tremor, muscle stiffness, rigidity, and slowed movements. Decreased levels of dopamine in the brain cause Parkinson’s Disease symptoms. Medications to treat Parkinson’s symptoms help increase levels of dopamine to make movements, tremors, stiffness and other symptoms less severe.
Diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease is made by a Neurologist after review of medical history and clinical examination. There are many different medication and therapeutic options available to treat Parkinson’s symptoms. There is currently no cure for Parkinson’s Disease
